Download Blacklight Beta from here:
https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
  • Hit I accept. It will take you to download page.
  • Download blbeta.exe and save it to the Desktop.
  • Once saved... double click blbeta.exe to install the program.
  • Click accept agreement and Click scan
This app too may fire off a warning from antivirus. Let the driver load.
    Wait for it to finish.
  • If it displays any items...don't do anything with them yet. Just hit exit (close)
  • It will drop a log on Desktop that starts with fsbl....big number
Please post contents of log.

Hello vodkagal3,

Make sure that Windows Defender does not interfer with the fix. Unload if necessary please.

Please print out or copy these instructions/tutorial to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Open Ewido.
  • On the main screen under Your Computer's security.
    • Click on Change state next to Resident shield. It should now change to inactive.
    • Next to Last Update, click on Update now. (You will need an active internet connection to perform this)
    • Wait until you see the Update succesfull message.
Note: If the Update now option is grayed out, follow the steps below.
      • Click on Update on the toolbar.
      • Under Manual update, click on the Start Update button.
      • Wait until you see the Update succesfull message.
  • Right-click the Ewido Tray Icon and select Exit. Confirm by clicking Yes.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
Ewido manual updates.
Download the Full database to your Desktop or to your usual Download Folder and install it by double clicking the file. Make sure that Ewido is closed before installing the update.
______________________________

Please download Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.

Create a folder for BFU on the C: drive called C:\BFU, do NOT run it from your Desktop.
You can do this by going to My Computer then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it BFU. Extract all the files from the zip archive into that folder.

RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download EGDACCESS Remover by Metallica.
Save it in the same folder you made earlier - C:\BFU.
______________________________

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login under your account.
______________________________

Open My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.
  • Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
  • Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon Image and select EGDACCESS.bfu
  • Click the Execute button and let the program do it’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  • Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
______________________________

Using Windows Explorer, Search and Delete these Files if listed:

c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\JESAGROTU.EXE-0BA6D1A0.pf
c:\WINDOWS\system32\jesagrotu_nav.dat
c:\WINDOWS\system32\jesagrotu.dat
C:\windows\system32\jesagrotu.exe
c:\WINDOWS\system32\jesagrotu_navps.dat

If you get an error when deleting a file, right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is uncheck it and try again.
______________________________

Using Windows Explorer, Navigate to C:\Windows\Temp
Click Edit, click Select All, press the DELETE key, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to send all the items to the Recycle Bin.

Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED USER)\Local Settings\Temp
Click Edit, click Select All, press the DELETE key, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to send all the items to the Recycle Bin.

Clean out your Temporary Internet files. Proceed like this:

Quit Internet Explorer, all browsers and quit any instances of Windows Explorer.

For Internet Explorer 4.x and Up
  • Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
  • On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.
  • In the Delete Files dialog box, tick the Delete all offline content check box, and then click OK.
  • On the General tab, click Delete Cookies under Temporary Internet Files, and then click OK.
  • Click on the Programs tab then click the Reset Web Settings button. Click Apply then OK.
  • Click OK.
For Netscape 4.x and Up
  • Click Edit from the Netscape menubar.
  • Click Preferences... from the Edit menu.
  • Expand the Advanced menu by clicking the triangle sign.
  • Click Cache.
  • Click both the Clear Memory Cache and the Clear Disk Cache buttons.
For Mozilla 1.x and Up
  • Click Edit from the Mozilla menubar.
  • Click Preferences... from the Edit menu.
  • Expand the Advanced menu by clicking the plus sign.
  • Click Cache.
  • Click the Clear Cache button.
For Opera
  • Click File from the Opera menubar.
  • Click Preferences... from the File menu.
  • Click the History and Cache menu.
  • Click the two Clear buttons next to Typed in addresses and Visited addresses (history) and click the Empty now button to clear the Disk cache.
  • Click Ok to close the Preferences menu.
Empty the Recycle Bin by right-clicking the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop, and then click Empty Recycle Bin.

Hello Jenny,

Sorry Kim.....I had to leave it and go to bed!!!

No worries, I hope you had a nice sleep. :)

Logs are looking very good, we just need to perform a small cleanup and double check that everything is gone. It can be a tricky infection sometimes as it uses rootkit techniques. :(

Copy the part in blue below into notepad and save it as aftermath.bfu - Make sure that wordwrap is turned of in Notepad. (Format > Uncheck wordwrap)
Save it to the same folder you made earlier C:\BFU.
Set Filetype to "All files"

RegDeleteKey HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\jesagrotu
RegDelValue HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run|jesagrotu
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\jesagrotu_navps.dat
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\jesagrotu_nav.dat
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\jesagrotu.dat
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\jesagrotu.exe

Open My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.
  • Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
  • Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon Image and select aftermath.bfu
  • Click the Execute button and let the program do it’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  • Press exit to terminate the BFU program.

Reboot the PC.

Run a new scan with Blacklight (blbeta.exe) so that we can see that everything is ok.
This application may fire off a warning from antivirus. Let the driver load.
Wait for it to finish.
If it displays any items ... don't do anything with them yet. Just hit exit (close).
It will drop a log on your Desktop that starts with fsbl....big number.

I've got 2 optional items for you to fix with HijackThis.

Run HijackThis, click on None of the above, just start the program, click on Scan. Put a check in the box on the left side of the following items if still present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcWzrd] ALCWZRD.EXE

RealTek High Definition audio driver related - detects new devices when plugged in, then pops up a dialog box. If everything works as expected you should be able to disable this one.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE

Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. "Sypware" file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers.

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click Fix Checked
______________________________

Please post :
  1. Blacklight log
  2. A new HijackThis log
You might need several replies to post the requested logs otherwise they might get cut off.
