Need an FTP or EMAIL drop

Unread postby JimW » May 26th, 2005, 1:13 pm

This has absolutely nothing to do with malware removal. I have a person at Dell who wants to EMAIL me a copy of a router manual that seems to be nowhere available on the Internet. I'm unwilling to give out my EMAIL address to somebody I don't know.

Is there a way I can arrange an FTP or EMAIL drop here?

Why do you want it?

I could accept it in (preferably) pdf format and then pass it along to you after scanning for nasties if you wish.

He's having trouble figuring out the security settings on the thing. It can't be that complex, but he's a complete newbie when it comes to networking.

It's a Network Everywhere NWK11B, and I haven't been able to find out anything about it, either from NE's Web site or Google. I suspect it's a PDF file, but I haven't heard anything back from the poster.

I'm hoping we can rig something up at our site, but I haven't heard back from my younger son, who's the administrator of the system. I expect I will, and would prefer to handle it that way.

Thanks! I'll post back if I need to go that route. It's a major annoyance that NE has equipment in the field for which there are no manuals available.

3162,

Thanks again for the offer. My son rigged up an alias that points to my account, and can be turned into a spamtrap if anything bad happens.

Now that we're all set, the poster hasn't been heard from in two days!
