hi, yesterday i got an email with an attachment and stupid me, i opened it. someone said it is a keylogger or something and im really nervous becuase i dont want to use anything on my comp that needs passwords. my comp has no signs of anything being wrong but this is what people were saying. i am on a network computer at work so its a PC and im used to using a mac and not thinking twice about opening anything suspicious. i went on another computer to change all my passwords and stuff but i want to know if there is anything tracking my activity in my comp. here is my hijackthis log....

Hi ericm-, Welcome to MalWare Removal !!

I don't see any signs of infection in your log ! :D

Do you remember the name of the virus/keylogger??

Have you ran a complete Norton Antivirus scan yet ??

Also You are currently using HijackThis from a temporary directory, this can cause problems.
HijackThis creates backups, these are needed in case of any recovery issues.
It is best that you create a folder on your C:\ and give it a name (example:HJT), move HijackThis.exe to that folder

Reply back and we can maybe run a couple of things to make sure ! ;)

well i dont know if it was a keylogger. i got an email about egold and clicked on the attachment and then later i found out the email was going around to many people and that it was most likely a keylogger. i could forward you the email with the attachment if that would help. ive run norton a few times today and yesterday and each time nothing comes up.

If you could highlight the contents of the email (not your address or private info) and copy/paste it here that would be good !

Good day,
Yesterday I was checking my egold account and was
surprised at what I saw; I had almost 200 ounces of
gold (USD 100,177.90). I never had so much money, (I
only had USD177.90 in my account at he time of this
transaction) I don’t know how did they get there. I
clicked on history and saw that money were transferred
2 hours ago, in the memo field I saw your email
address:tpurplelabel@hotmail.com When I was trying to sort this out -
money disappeared from my egold account. I lost my
money and money that came from nowhere. I changed my
password immediately and now I am trying to find out
what has happened. Luckily I made a screenshot with
the transaction history for you to see and tell me
what is going on. I hope that you will let me know
what has happened. I did not contact egold support
yet. I hope that we will be able to sort this matter
ASAP. Before I will contact them.
Regards,
John Gavery.

also, when i run HJT 2 error messages come up:
the first one says access was denied to the host file
the second one says ERROR #75 and doesnt give much detail
but after i click OK to those it runs anyway and then the log comes up. because of this could it be missing some stuff or unable to detect certain things?
