Can't reach my web site or my email- or any sites on my ISP

Unread postby Syzygy » May 23rd, 2006, 8:21 pm

I can reach everywhere on the internet except my website. I can't get there with IE, FF, FTP via Dreamweaver, email via outlook or Thunderbird.

As a webmaster, this is somewhat embarrassing.

Somewhere in there is a block that won't let me get to that IP address. Another computer 3 feet away on my network is just fine and can reach that site easily.

I'm at my wit's end. I've tried everything I can think of. Firewall's off, No Anti-virus, removed SpyBot S&D, and AdAware. Installed Windows Defender.

I'm running XP Pro SP2. I've gone through the registry and killed all of the listings of the files SpyBot installed in the Restricted Sites areas.

Booted to Safe mode with Networking, no change. My Hosts File is clean.

If you don't know where else to look, can someone tell me how to identify the process that is doing the blocking? What do I have to do to figure that part out?

Any and all recommendations including those involving incendaries are welcome.

Thanks,
Syzygy

Syzygy

I cannot see anything which should or could interfer.

What about uninstalling roboform, that looks the only item with any potential to do so.

Roboform

Unread postby Syzygy » May 24th, 2006, 7:11 am

Thanks, Chris
I'm ready to try anything. But I've been using Roboform for a couple of years with no problems- until now.

I'll try it and let you know.

Something to try.

A Ping of your servers IP.
A tracert of your servers IP

as in command prompt window :-

c:\windows > ping 123.123.123.123

c:\windows > tracert 123.123.123.123

The first will tell you if it can connect, the second will tell you what loops and timeings between them.
