Strange behavior

I think I have a problem but I can't find it. I'm a webmaster and I'm very strong technically but this isn't my area so I came here looking for help.

Sometimes when I reboot, my ethernet port just starts transmitting. It sends some huge amounts of data with almost nothing received. To me this looks like a DoS attack that is being launched by my PC.

But HijackThis, AVG, TrendMicro, TrojanHunter, A-squared and anthing else I try just can't find anything.

Here is the port with the weird numbers and transmission. After looking at this I'm wondering if the problem is hardware with the port setting up for 1Gig on a 100MB lan?

I cannot see any malware on your system. The only thing thay may be sending information is the Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor, "Sypware" file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers. Let's remove that and see if that helps.

First, we need to placeHJT into a folder of its own for it to function properly. Right click on an empty spot on the desktop new>folder to create a folder and name it HijackThis. Drag and drop the HijackThis.exe into it. You also have HijackThis programmed to scan at the startup along with a squared and your AV. That is not necessary and would slow down the startup.

I see you are running Microsoft Antispyware. It will interfere with the fix. You'll either need to disable it temporarily or give permissions to the changes that we are going to make.

1. Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
2. Click on Tools, Settings.
3. In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
4. Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
5. Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
6. After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
7. Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

After the fix is complete, enable Real-time Protection again.

• Close all open Explorer windows and browsers/email, etc
• Run HijackThis
• Click on the Scan button and when complete
• Put a check beside all of the items listed below
• Click on the "Fix Checked" button
• When completed, close the application.

Thanks for the quick response.
I've removed the Real file and I'll keep an eye on it. I've also forced the ethernet port to 100Mb speed rather than allowing it to go auto.

I haven't had a chance to check that yet. But I'll find time later today.
