TDL3, I'm a newbie, need advice

Unread postby mikewarren » August 26th, 2011, 9:24 pm

My computer has a TDL3 rootkit virus that keeps redirecting everything I try to do. I tried downloading Hitman Pro 3.5 and Kaspersky TDSS killer but it will not allow the download to proceed. I was successful in downloading TIZER Tootkit Razor but when I attempt to scan files it shuts down the computer and it reboots itself with the message "a serious error has occurred" which I report to Microsoft but so what! I am on Windows XP. I have to get rid of this malware, it is terrible. Any advice for me? Thanks, Mike

If you feel you are infected and want our help...

May I draw your attention to THIS topic, which you should have read, that states what we need you to post, so we can help you.

Please follow the instructions carefully, they will show you how and where to post the requested information. Please start a new thread, in the appropriate forum (see link above) an include your DDS logs:

  • DDS.txt.
  • Attach.txt.
  • Details of the problems you're experiencing.

If for any reason you can't run DDS, please let us know in your post.
