New member - slow computer

Hello everyone. I am new to this and have a slow computer. CCleaner is pretty good but a friend has suggested I try HiJackThis. I have created a log and paste it here as requested. Sorry it is longish. Anything I should (and should NOT) delete?

Currently I am working under the guidance of the MRU teachers and everything I post to you, must first be approved by them. This additional review process can add some extra time to my responses, but hopefully not too much.

I need to have more information about your system and resources and would like to ask you to run DDS scan:

Step 1.
DDS Scan

1. Please download DDS ... by sUBs. Save it to your desktop. Alternate download links here or here.
   Please disable any anti-malware program that will block scripts from running before running DDS.
2. Please double click dds.com to run the tool. (File name will be different if alternate download used).
   A black window will open with some instructions/comments...
3. When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
   
   • DDS.txt
   • Attach.txt
   Caution: The above logs will NOT be saved... you must save them to your desktop.
4. Please post both the DDS.txt and Attach.txt files in your next reply.

Thank you for your help - I am sorry but I do not want to download another programme to my system. It is my understanding the log from HiJackThis will show the same as DDS anyway. If there is missing information then please query me and I'll answer of course. I hope you can work with the log you have but if not, then it is perhaps my loss.

Hello ArKay,

Unfortunately, HijackThis log is much less informative than DDS one, which is much more detailed and covered system parts completely skipped by HJT including information about resources consumption (physical and virtual memory, CPU time, hard disk free space availability, etc.) - all are very important for your case. Actually, your original HJT log is clean and DDS scan could make deeper scanning which probably could catch some infection.

Before giving you recommendations what you should change on your computer to run it faster, I need to diagnose a problem which caused slowing. I see there two possibilities - you have some infection or the problem based on wrong system and/or hardware settings. I have a wide arsenal of tools which could inspect your computer from different sides and in any event, step by step, we could find a real reason for your problem...

Practically, if you will not run what I ask you, I cannot help you. Please let me know you decision in your next reply.
