Help with infection please

I've been having problems with my computer for ages.
The icon on the top left of the screen suddenly turns into a 'programme' icon is blue outline, white square, then everything freezes and sometimes ctrl alt delete can get me out of it but other times i need to unplug the whole thing and turn it on again. I've tried housecall, kaspersky, avast, ewido and others and they sometimes find things but this problem persists.

Your log appears clean, and your problem may not be malware related at all. You do seem to have a lot running though and there could be other issues, such as memory, drivers, hardware, etc. I suggest it may be helpful for you to go to a forum like PC Pitstop and go through their Free PC Diagnostic scans and see what turns up. They're also very good at troubleshooting problems like these.

just one question.
i disabled the vaio launcher as i suspected it was causing this so could i now get rid of all those sony items with HJT? would that just disable them and not stop the whole thing starting up?

One thing that may work better than trying to disable things with HijackThis is to use a little freeware program, CodeStuff Starter. You can use it to select what you do and do not want to run at start-up. It's easy to use and if you stop something from starting and then change your mind, it's very easy to switch back. Also, make sure you keep your Temp folders cleaned out and defrag on a regular basis.
