Windows Security Alert

Unread postby inggrid » September 4th, 2010, 5:04 am

Hello everyone,

I just got Windows Security Alert. I believe that this is caused by viruses because my computer runs slower now (I was scanning with AVG free edition and it was said that my computer suffered from Trojan horse Adload_r. AKC). I substitued my AVG with AVIRA free edition last night. I re-scanned it and it was ok. However, this morning, I got "Windows Security Alert". I tried "HijackThis" and got the log file as mentioned below. Is that a virus? How can I fix my problem? Thank you very much for your help!

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4

Re: Windows Security Alert

Unread postby Dakeyras » September 5th, 2010, 6:54 pm

This forum was set up specifically to help home users, we do not work on business machines and or machines leased from a institution.

Computers used in a these environments often have policies and other modifications made to them. It is impossible for us to differentiate these from ones that have been made by an infection, so in removing what we think is an infection, we may compromise the actual set up of the computer.

The scans we run often reveal information that most businesses/institutions would not want exposed in an open forum, and there are other legal constraints and ramifications involved with such machines that we are not equipped or trained to deal with.

I'm sorry but we can't help you.

I suggest you contact your IT Department, or whoever normally deals with technical issues and let them know your computer is infected. If it has been connected to the school network whilst infected, then that too may be compromised and will need to be checked.

Therefore, this topic is now closed.
