Hard to shift spyware

Unread postby almightymat » August 8th, 2010, 11:50 am

Hello all,

I was wondering if somebody could give me a hand with some hard to shift spyware? No idea where it came from, it's crippled my browsers and won't let me run my protection software (adaware and sophos) unless in safe mode, and neither show up any infections.

Hijackthis log and uninstall list below, thanks!

Re: Hard to shift spyware

Unread postby almightymat » August 9th, 2010, 12:50 pm

Damn, totally forgot when I posted this but another post reminded me, this attack happened literally an hour before I left for the airport for 2 weeks ago, and I had to shut down and leave it for my return...the first thing that I noticed was something called ANTIVIR popping up that I didn't recognise, this took over my browsers (firefox and IE), crippled my antivirus & malware programs (sophos, adaware) and prevented me from running task manager...I was so frazzled getting back from my trip that I clean forgot that part!

Thanks!
