Delay of several Hours before email notifications received

Unread postby P;3 » July 13th, 2010, 7:23 am

These appears to be a long delay ( seems to be like several hours) before email notifications are received ; I do not see anywhere in my Settings to adjust the speed of their delivery ( instant/delayed/etc )

Is this delay in sending a new policy or is there a board glitch

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for me to get the Notification(s) from any replies to this too

Thanks to whoever replies ....

Hello P;3,

How are you accessing your e-mails? If using a local client e-mail program you should check how often it checks for new e-mails. I use Thunderbird and that only updates automatically every 10-20 minutes ish.

If you setup an account with a different e-mail service provider (Yahoo!, Hotmail, GMX) do you still experience the same delay?

Do you experience the delay when e-mailing your acccount from a different address?

Also you should bear in mind that all times on the board are in UTC and as such do no include daylight savings.

As I am only a freshman here so these are the only things I can recommend checking for the meantime. I'm sure an Administrator or a member of the Server Support Team may be able to assist further.
