Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3
I was working on my computer, everything fine, nothing wrong. I get the usual, updates required, restart now or later dialog box that has a countdown til it shutdown. It shutdown, I check 5 minuted later, and chkdsk is running. On step 3, I get "Replacing invalid security id with default security id for file." It does that for about 2 million+ plus files, then it starts back up in windows normally, but has a dialog box that says "DMAScheduler has encountered an error and needs to close." I close it. I can't open up any files on my desktop. My Start menu is not there. IE wont start, but firefox will. My Recycle bin is full, and I remember reading on a forum that some guy emptied his trash and the problem went away. So I emptied the trash. I am now able to open up .txt and .css files, and folders, but not images. I restart the computer. Same "DMSScheduler" dialog error box comes up. Still no start menu. Everything is the same as before that last restart. I then try to install Malwarebytes anti-malware. I wont install because I get an error dialog boz that says "failed to load control vbalgrig" something something something. I can't access the search function on the computer to search for that file. So then I installed Hijackthis and the report is below. I then installed Avira AntiVir Personal, updated it like your guys' instructions say, it scanned my computer, and it didn't find anything.

After chkdsk ran and started windows up, the start menu was there, but pushed down under the screen, so like it was only half seen. I was able to reboot from the start menu. After the reboot, the start menu was not there at all, and still is not.
