Hi,
Let's proceed.

First,
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware here and save to the desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to:
    Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    Image
  • Refer to above image and then click Remove Selected to proceed.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the log back into your next reply
Note:
  • The log can also be found here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt
  • Or via the Logs tab when Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is started.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Next,
Reboot into the usual account.

Next,
RSIT by random/random.
Please download from HERE and save to the desktop.
  • Double-click on RSIT.exe to run the tool.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it finishes, two logs will open.
    • log.txt will be opened maximized
    • info.txt will be opened minimized
  • Please post the contents of both logs in your next post.
***You can find manually the log at C:\rsit

Next,
Checklist.
Please post.
  • Content of MBAM log
  • Content of log.txt and info.txt (Find both in c:\rsit)

I have done a full scan of my computer 3 times and all 3 times it does the same thing....it will finish the scan and says I have about 100 infected objects so I hit the button to remove selected objects and it starts to but a few seconds later a window pops up and says MALWAREBYTES has encountered a problem and needs to close...I have NO windows open or anything else running and I did try it a total of 3 times with no success...please let me know what I need to do...THANKS

Re: IE and Firefox keeps redirecting me to google

Unread postby amyann13 » April 30th, 2010, 9:08 pm

I have tried to remove BEST OFFERS before from the ADD/REMOVE programs but I always get the same message and it tells me to uninstall KAZAA first but I already uninstalled it a long time ago and now I don't see it on the list ...here is the message it gives me when I try to uninstall BEST OFFERS....
The Best Offers a division of direct revenue

The Best Offers advertising client is installed with the ad supported version of Kazaa. If you want to continue using Kazaa for free you cannot uninstall the advertising client software. The advertising client is not "spyware," does not collect any personal information about you, and is not malicious.

To uninstall the advertising client you must uninstall Kazaa using the Add/Remove Programs entry for that application.
EULA | Privacy Policies

SHOULD I PROCEDE WITH YOUR OTHER INSTRUCTIONS.....AND IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER WAY FOR ME TO UNINSTALL BEST OFFERS PLEASE LET ME KNOW......THANKS

Hi,
Let's proceed.
Please let me know any difficulty. Malware tend to protect itself.

First,
exeHelper by raktor
Please download from HERE and save to the desktop.
  • Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
  • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
  • Post the contents of exehelperlog.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com, and should open at the end of the scan)
Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Next,
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - Run
  • Double-click Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to run the program.
  • Click on Update tab > Check for Updates.
  • Once done, click on Scanner tab, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.

Next,
Checklist.
Please post.

Hi,
Ok, try this.

First,
DeFogger - Disable
Please download from HERE and save to the desktop.
  • Double click DeFogger to run the tool.
  • The application window will appear
  • Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers
  • Click Yes to continue
  • A 'Finished!' message will appear
  • Click OK
  • DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK
IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_disable which will appear on your desktop.

Do not re-enable these drivers until otherwise instructed.

Next,
GMER.
Please download from HERE and save to the desktop.
  • Unzip/extract the file to its own folder.
  • Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
There is a small chance this application may crash your computer so save any work you have open.
  • Double-click on Gmer.exe to start the program.
  • Allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
  • If it gives you a warning at program start about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a scan, click NO.
  • Click on >>> symbol and choose on the Rootkit tab.
  • Look at the right hand side (under Files) and uncheck all drives with the exception of your C drive.
  • Make sure all other boxes on the right of the screen are checked, EXCEPT for "Show All".
  • Click on the Scan and wait for the scan to finish.
Note: Before scanning, make sure all other running programs are closed and no other actions like a scheduled antivirus scan will occur while this scan completes. Also do not use your computer during the scan.
  • When completed, click on the Copy button and right-click on your Desktop, choose "New" > Text document. Once the file is created, open it and right-click again and choose Paste or Ctrl+V. Save the file as gmer.txt and copy the information in your next reply.
  • Note: If you have any problems, try running GMER in SAFE MODE"
Important! Please do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan..

Next,
Checklist.
Please post.
