XP defender / XP security centre

[the_big_d]

Hi, Im hoping someone can help me with the problems i've been having with these two programs. I got infected with this XP defender thing. It's giving me loads of fake security warnings, pop ups, making the comp run slow & stopping me web browsing. After having a search around i got rid of it by making a reg edit file on notepad ?? although this got rid of the defender thing i was still getting pop ups & the comp running slow. It came back a few times & i did the same thing to get rid of it but tonight it came back again now its called XP security centre. I cant even close the program & it also runs in safe mode.
