Unread postby xixo_12 » April 18th, 2010, 12:19 am

Hello and Welcome to Malware Removal Forums.
  • My name is xixo_12 and I will guide you.
  • Refrain from running self fixes as this will hinder the malware removal process.
  • You may wish to print them off or copy the instruction into Notepad.
  • If you have any question please don't hesitate to ask.
  • The instructions that I will give to you are specific to your current problem and shouldn't be used on other systems.
  • If you are receiving help or have received help on this problem elsewhere, please let us know.
  • Keep interact with me until your computer is clean.

Please make sure you have done your reading on this topic : How to get help at this forum
Please! If you need more time to do all the instructions, let me know before 72hours is done. Otherwise, your thread will be closed

First,
P2P software.
IMPORTANT: I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.
µTorrent

  • It's not a good idea to have them.
  • You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P filesharing as a major conduit to spread their wares.
  • Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the P2P program(s) listed above.
  • If you do not wish to remove your P2P programs, don't proceed with the next instruction and please tell me to close this topic.

Next,
CKScanner.
Please download from HERE and save to the desktop.
  • Double click on CKScanner.exe to run it and click Search For Files.
  • After a very short time, when the cursor hourglass disappears, click Save List To File.
  • A message box will verify the file saved.
  • Double-click the CKFiles.txt icon on your desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.

Next,
Checklist.
Please post.
  • Content of CKFiles.txt

Information.
I have examined your log, and I believe this to be a computer used for business, either personal or corporate.
If I could point you in the direction of our rules, which state under Posting for help for business machine:
This forum was set up specifically to help home users, our volunteer helpers choose not to work on business machines.

Computers used in a business environment often have policies and other modifications made to them. It is impossible for us to differentiate these from ones that have been made by an infection, so in removing what we think is an infection, we may compromise the business set up of your computer.

The scans we run often reveal information that most businesses would not want exposed in an open forum, and there are other legal constraints and ramifications involved with business machines that we are not equipped or trained to deal with.

We will close any topic where we believe the computer is one that is used in a business environment, irrespective of whether that business is a large company or a small one man enterprise.

Source : Posting for help for business machines

***Reminder : If you ask for help and unknown to us while it's involves a business computer, you need to understand that any damages resulting from our advices are YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

If this is indeed a business computer:
  • If it is a corporate computer, it is suggested that you take this issue to your IT department.
  • If this is a personal computer used for business (personal or corporate), it is suggested that you take this issue to your IT department, or your local PC repair store.
  • Please let me know you have read this so that the topic can be closed. I am sorry I can not be of further assistance.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi,

BACKDOOR TROJAN
I'm afraid I have some bad news for you. Your computer is infected with BACKDOOR TROJAN. Backdoor Trojans are the most dangerous and most widespread type of Trojan. Backdoor Trojans provide the author or "master" of the Trojan with remote "administration" of victims machines. Unlike legitimate remote administration utilities, they install, launch and run invisibly, without the consent or knowledge of the user. Once installed, Backdoor Trojans can be instructed to send, receive, execute and delete files, harvest confidential data from the computer, log activity on the computer, change settings on the computer and more. Please read this article by Roger A. Grimes on Remote Access Trojans it will give you an idea of the severity of the type of infection you have.

LINK : http://www.prevx.com/filenames/10677455 ... 2.SYS.html

You are strongly advised to do the following:
  • Disconnect the computer from the Internet and from any networked computers until it is cleaned.
  • Back up all your important data except programs. The programs can be reinstalled back from the original disc or from the Net.
  • Call all your banks, financial institutions, credit card companies and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and put a watch on your accounts. If you don't mind the hassle, change all your account numbers.
  • From a clean computer, change all your passwords (ISP login password, your email address(es) passwords, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, Amazon, online groups and forums and any other online activities you carry out which require a username and password).

Do NOT change your passwords from this computer as the attacker will be able to get all the new passwords and transaction records.

Because of the severity and the capabilities of this type of virus, (it cannot be known what changes to your system it has made or if it opened up other ways into your system) The only responsible course of action I can advise is to reformat your computer and reinstall windows.

Post any question if you have.

Ok, :)
I just want you to know the infection that we deal now.
Backdoor tend to modify some of the files and I'm glad to have your attention and stress it here, our tools have limitation to detect this type of modification.

To be exact, I could help you to clean out the infection, but keep in your mind, it may look clean to me, but I can't confirm your system is safe for the confidential access. Please be aware about it.

Let me know again about your decision.

Hi,

I am sure kinda will take huge amount of time to reinstall these stuff all again

Yes, but it worth in every effort ;)

btw can I use the system restore? to get rid of it?

I'm afraid the system restore equip with this infection too.

So, please let me know your decision. If you like to proceed, I will give the steps for you to follow BUT I can't guarantee the status of the system in term of security.

If you like to reformat and reinstall, I would glad to give final instructions.

Thanks!

Hi,
Let's proceed. :)

First,
ComboFix
Download ComboFix from one of these locations (DO NOT download ComboFix from anywhere else but one of the provided links)
Save as Combo-Fix.exe <<Please have a look on file name. You have to change.
Link 1
Link 2

**IMPORTANT !!! Save Combo-Fix.exe to your Desktop**

  • Disable your AntiVirus/AntiSpyware/Firewall applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools
A guide to do this can be found here
  • Double click on Combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console
Image
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:
Image

  • Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the contents of C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply
A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may cause to your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

Next,
Checklist.
Please post.
  • Content of ComboFix.txt
