One problem was the Avast anti-virus program found 51 infected things and i tried to repair them and all 51 had a error and could not repair.

Could you note down any info from Avast and post the results?

Please run the following scan for now, it may be that Avast was just flagging the ComboFix backups:

Install Java
  • Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
  • Click Here to download the latest version of Java.
  • Click Windows 7/XP/Vista/2003/2008 offline
  • Save jre-6u19-windows-i586-S.exe to a convenient location.
  • Run this file and follow the on screen instructions to install java.

-----------------------------

TFC(Temp File Cleaner):
  • Double-click TFC.exe to run the program.
  • Click the Start button in bottom left of TFC
  • If prompted, click "Yes" to reboot.

Note: Save your work. TFC will automatically close any open programs, let it run uninterrupted.
It should not take longer than a couple of minutes, and may only take a few seconds. Only if needed will you be prompted to reboot.

----------------------------

Kaspersky online scan

Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon and select Run as Admin for this scan.

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.
  1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  3. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  4. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
        Archives
        Mail databases

  5. Click on My Computer under Scan.
  6. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  7. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  8. Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  9. Please post this log in your next reply.
This online tutorial will help explain how to use the aforementioned online scan.

Well done your pc now appears to be Malware free. Please advise on any problems you still have.

Due to the infections you had "Backdoor Trojan" it's possible the pc is still damaged, and I would personally still recommend to reformat, but the choice is yours. I would not do any banking on this pc or keep any sensitive information on it. You could still use it for casual surfing etc.

Don't forget to re-enable any protection programs you may have disabled during the fix.

Remove the Kaspersky online scanner through Control Panel > Programs and Features (if present)

Uninstall ComboFix
  • Click on Start > All programs > Accessories > Run
  • Now type in ComboFix /Uninstall and click OK.
  • Note the space between the X and the /Uninstall, it needs to be there.

The above will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points.

Run OTM
  • Right click on OTM.exe and select Run as Admin to run it
  • Click the CleanUp! button
  • Click Yes when asked Begin cleanup process?
  • If asked to reboot to finish removing files, click Yes
Note: the tool will delete itself when finished.

Install Adobe Reader
  • Download the latest Adobe Reader from Here.
  • UNcheck the option to download the free McAfee Security Scan Plus.
  • Click Download and save the file to a convenient location.
  • Run AdbeRdr930_en_US.exe and follow the prompts to install adobe.
If you already have Adobe Photoshop installed, or do not wish to install it, then UNcheck the Also download Adobe Photoshop option.

If you don't like Adobe Reader, then I would recommend to get Foxit PDF Reader
It is a much smaller file to download and uses a lot less resources than Adobe Reader.
When installing Foxit Reader be careful not to install anything to do with the AskBar

Hosts file config
If you took my adice in the previous post and installled an optional Hosts file, then please disable the DNS Client to avoid system slowdown.
  • Start > type services.msc > click the cog icon
  • Scroll down to DNS Client > right-click and select Properties
  • Click the drop-down arrow for Startup type
  • Select Disabled
  • Click Apply/OK and restart

Now some advice for keeping your pc safe and secure for the future:

  • Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
This is an excellent application and I advise you keep this installed. Check for updates and run a scan once a week.
  • Other installed security software
Your presently installed security application Avast automatically checks for updates and downloads/installs them with every system reboot and or periodically if the machine is left running providing an internet connection is active. I advise you also run a complete scan with this also once per week.
  • Emergency Recovery Utility NT (Erunt)
I advice you keep this installed as a means to keep a complete backup of your registry and restore it when needed.
Myself I would actually create a new back up once per week as this along with System Restore may prove to be invaluable if something unforeseen occurs!
  • Make sure that you keep your antivirus updated
New viruses come out every minute, so it is essential that you have the latest signatures for your antivirus program to provide you with the best possible protection from malicious software.
  • Security Updates for Windows, Internet Explorer & Microsoft Office
Whenever a security problem in its software is found, Microsoft will usually create a patch so that after the patch is installed, attackers can't use the vulnerability to install malicious software on your PC. Keeping up with these patches will help to prevent malicious software being installed on your PC. Ensure you are registered for Windows updates via Start > right-click on My Computer > Properties > Automatic Updates tab or visit the Microsoft Update site on a regular basis.
Note:The update process uses ActiveX, so you will need to use internet explorer for it and allow the ActiveX control to install.
  • Update Non-Microsoft Programs
Microsoft isn't the only company whose products can contain security vulnerabilities. To check whether other programs running on your PC are in need of an update, you can use the Secunia Software Inspector or F-secure Health Check. I suggest that you run one of them at least once a month.

Recommended Programs

I would recommend the download and installation of some or all of the following programs and the updating of them on a regular basis.

  • WinPatrol
As a robust security monitor, WinPatrol will alert you to hijackings, malware attacks and critical changes made to your computer without your permission. WinPatrol takes snapshot of your critical system resources and alerts you to any changes that may occur without your knowledge. For more information, please visit Here
  • SpywareBlaster
SpywareBlaster sets killbits in the registry to prevent known malicious ActiveX controls from installing on your computer. You can download SpywareBlaster from Here
  • Analog X Script Defender
This will prevent malicious scripts from running on your pc by giving you the option to allow a script or not. Download it Here

Finally I am trying to make one point very clear. It is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to keep all of your security programs up to date.

I'd be grateful if you could reply to this post so that I know you have read it, and if you've no other questions, the thread can be closed.

Happy surfing and stay clean!
