Welcome to MWR!
Your log shows demon.net as your likely Internet provider. Is that correct?
There is a serious problem with your AntiVirus setup. There are three Antivirus applications showing. With this arrangement, they can prevent each other from doing the job preperly.
AVG, Avast and Symantec are all showing as active.
Choose ONE of the three to keep and Uninstall the other two.

Disable Microsoft Anti-Spyware
In the system tray in the lower right, locate the MS Anti-Spy red Bullseye.
Right click it.
Highlight Security Agents Status(Enabled) and click Disable Real Time Protection.
Right click the Bullseye again to be sure it now shows Security Agents Status (Disabled).

Use Add/Remove Programs In Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight TWO of these programs, one at a time, and choose Remove :
Keep the third one.

Symantec (or Norton) Antivirus
Alwil Avast
Grisoft AVG
Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller.
Reboot if requested after each removal

It is a stand-alone program that does not need to be "installed". Save it to a convenient location and make a shortcut on your desktop.

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main, choose Select All
Click Empty Selected

If you use Firefox browser,
Click Firefox at the top and choose Select All
Click on Empty Selected
NOTE: If you would like to keep any saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit to close.

Now let's take a look at what's left:
Post a New HJT Log
Reboot your computer. Start HijackThis. Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl-A), copy and paste the log contents in a reply.

thanks for your prompt reply

you're right, demon is my ISP!!

I have done as you requested and uninstalled AVG and Norton leaving only the Avast AV software in place.

I have also completely uninstalled the Microsoft AntiSpyware program since this version had expired anyway. I then ran the ATF cleaner and ran a new HJT scan.

Below is the new log.

Good work. Log looks good. One or two more things:

Stop, Disable and Delete A Service
Go to Start, Run OR Start, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and type Services.msc and click OK.
Under the Extended Tab, Scroll down and find the service. The service name is the item in Parentheses in the O23 line.
SymWSC (Symantec Corp)
Click once on the service to highlight it. Click Stop
Right-Click on the service. Click onProperties
Select the General tab. Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side at the Start-up Type box.
From the drop-down menu, click on Disabled
Click the Apply tab, then click OK

Delete the Service
Open HiJackThis. Click on Config, Misc Tools, Delete an NT Service
Type SymWSC in the space provided and click OK. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept.

Using Windows Explorer(My Computer), locate and DELETE the following folder (if it still is present):
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\

Remove log items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis.
Click Scan. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries:
(Some of these lines may be missing)

O23 - Service: SymWMI Service (SymWSC) - Symantec Corporation - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\SymWSC.exe
This one is a major resource hog, and most experts feel the performance is better without having it run at startup. If you wish check this one also:
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE

Make sure Every other window except HJT is closed (No other tabs showing in the bottom tray), and Click Fix Checked.

Post a New HJT Log
Reboot your computer. Start HijackThis. Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl-A), copy and paste the log contents in a reply.
