Need Help With Website Redirect. Virus???

Unread postby fuzion23 » January 15th, 2010, 6:03 am

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my desktop. On Internet explorer, when i type in www.etrade.com it redirect me to https://wireless.etrade.com instead https://us.etrade.com/e/t/home which is the Etrade home page. I know the site it direct me to is the wireless site for smartphones, but it can't take me directly to the desktop version. Just wondering if I have a virus because of that. Can someone please help me.

Hi Xixo,

My friend told me to install this on my machine because it helps with privacy or something like that.
"PeerGuardian 2.0"

O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: SearchList = usc.edu
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: SearchList = usc.edu

In regards to that. One of my friend goes to USC and he gave me Norton Antivirus 10.0 and I believe thats where I got it from because I think it logs into USC server? And about half a year ago he gave me a newer version which is Norton Endpoint. So i dont know if that usc.edu is any use for me. And the machine is mine and it does not belong to USC.

Hi Xixo,
I am having problems installing MGAdiag.exe. It keeps giving me error messages. Something Windows error xx0003f. That might not be the exact error code. I was able to run CKscanner. I need to submit the log. I might be out of town again for work soon. Not sure the exact date yet. I appoligize for the late response. I get home around 1am every night. So I might take longer to respond and might be out of town soon again. Is there anything wrong with my machine as of right now? =(

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
