i do not know how this happened. here are the symptoms. all my folder names are replaced with numbers specifically the date last modified. i click the start and i cant search it says "search failed to initialize" when i go to control panel everything is empty says "no items found" i also cannot click on my profile in the start menu a window pops up then dissapears same with when i right click on desktop and hit personalize same thing happens. i can only use the internet and ctrl+alt+delete. i can access rugular files but its hard to only go by the numbers i also cant configure any of the profiles i have tried going into safe mode it does not work. it says i have no saved dates so i cant go back with system restore. i have tried male ware bytes it deleted some Trojans and i tried avast they cant find anything anymore. it says they got rid of them all. i don't know whats wrong i need help with this from a CPU expert i found some processes that did not have a description i tried deleting them and it said access denied. i cant even change accounts in safe mode says access denied so annoying. i have been searching for a while now and have not found an answer anyone know any fixes please? its very hard to look at my files when they are all numbers... plus i cant access most of them .... i am not the best computer user so if you can help simplify please.

i use Firefox. and windows vista 64 bit.

when i run hijack this it does a scan then says for some reason your system denied write access to the host file if any hijack domains are in this file it may not be able to fix it.

also is there a way to copy/past your list of installed programs?..

and as well if it is of any importance my windows style seem to be changed like the close button is smaller stuff like that.
also the first time i noticed there was this media file being played like a radio i could not turn it off no matter what i turned off my computer and back on i haven't seen it again i dont know what it was called it was hidden and playing.
