just wanted to noe how many steps do u have to go through in order to remove Spyware Strike. I posted a topic at dell, but I just wanted to noe if I really had to go through downloading like 2-3 programs in order to remove it. I thought u just had to provide a HJT Log, fix some things, and its gone. Some1 plz go to my topic and tell me if its necessary to do all of those steps. Go to the old topic I made, on page 2 by now. I hope I dont have to actually do all of that.
PS> I already did Nicks way, provided a log at dell, then had to do more stuff, even today. Just wanted to noe if its all necessary, cuz I have seen tons of other people just post a HJT Log, fix something, and get it done.
Thanks

Unfortunately, the only way to remove spyware strike is to download and use other programs. Good luck!

You seemed to have more than just the problem with Spyware Strike.
By not having your Windows updated to SP1, you had some loopholes that weren't closed by the SP patch.

Now that you have updated, the expert at Dell will be able to walk you through the rest of the fix/cleaning.

I would not second-guess an expert at another forum.
Good advice is always ... Good Advice :)

One of the things to look for when you need to use a forum for help, if the forum clearly states that ONLY certified helpers may post, that means they use only qualified helpers. This would mean, that for the most part you can trust the advice given at these forums.

Good luck with all your download and scanning. You will have a better machine at the end, than you did before you started :)
