Google links redirect (often) to other sites...

Unread postby dbaaa » November 30th, 2009, 4:43 am

Hello,
my problem is that on my parents' PC, links from google often lead to sites other than those displayed, e.g. the search result is at guardian.co.uk, but clicking on the link (and sometimes the google cache of the link) leads to a site which wants to sell me something (e.g. ebay searches related to the term first searched for), or to (i presume fake) "anti-virus free download" sites. Various virus scanners or anti-malware programs provide no help. They first found various trojans etc, which have since been deleted. It seems it could have something to do with "wmdaud".... but the (dodgy version) cannot be deleted or it reappears almost immediately after being deleted.

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!
