Okay so we all know you should be running anti virus on your machine and this just goes to show why.

The default is too low, and too many set it lower or not surprisingly, turn it off; which of course is asking for trouble.
No matter which operating system, they ALL need protection, and run with limited user privilege.

Also UAC is not a security boundary since there are tricks malware can use to bypass UAC and gain administrator credentials, For increased security you're better off using a standard user account and then either fast user switching or logging out then into an administrator account to do administrator tasks, UAC and Limited user accounts are not the same thing.

The main parts about UAC is convenience - making it easier to get users to use standard accounts instead of admin accounts though with convenience there's often a trade-off of security.
And to get developers to start programming with standard accounts in mind to eventually get everyone to use standard accounts instead of administrator accounts one day.
