I started to notice slight signs of infections a while back, but didn't take the neccisary precautions to take care of it. Being in school full time and working 35 hours a week made me a little lazy . Any help you guys give is very appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Okay, I was able to uninstall the LiveUpate; however I'm unable to run the Malware Bytes program. I've been unable to since my infection, it instantly crashes as soon as I run it. I've uninstalled and re-installed and the outcome is the same. Here is the rest of the information you requested.

Here is the log file.

Hi lonestar_1313

Please note: Due to the restrictions on Vista, all tools should be started by Right-Click ---> "Run As Administrator"

Gmer

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here.

  • Right-Click the .exe file and choose "Run As Administrator" If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO

    Image
Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following ...
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and post it in reply
**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

Note: Do not run any programs while Gmer is running.

Due to lack of activity this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
