Hi Nick,

Welcome to the Malware Removal forums. I will be more than happy to help you work on your problems.
Please give me some time to review your log as this can be a lengthy process. As soon as a MR Staff Member reviews my fix, I will post it for you.
In the mean time, if any problems occur. Please let me know.
Please only use this topic to reply to. Do not start another thread.
The fixes we will use are specific to your problems and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
If you’re unsure of anything at all please stop and ask!

Thanks,

Rogue

Hi Nick,

The Realtek and HP files are still present. Were you able to complete all of the tasks? Read through this as I have added some extra steps to help. Also I noticed you now have Bearshare installed. Bearshare is a P2P filesharing program that is considered by many in the anti-malware community as dangerous. These programs often come with undesirable components bundled in them. Please read This article for more information, as well as listings of filesharing programs considered to be clean.
==========

Download and install Ewido Anti-Malware

During the installation, uncheck the following under Additional Options:
Install background guard
Install scan via context menu

Check for updates
Do not run it yet
==========

Spybot S&D is available from here.

Download and Install Spybot S&D (if you haven't already), accept the Default Settings
In the Menu Bar at the top of the Spybot window you will see Mode.
Make certain that 'Default Mode has a check mark beside it.
Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
Click the button to ‘Search for Updates’ then download and install the updates.
Next click the button ‘Check for Problems'
When Spybot is complete, it will be showing ‘RED’ entries bold 'BLACK' entries and ‘GREEN’ entries in the window
Make certain there is a check mark beside all of the RED entries ONLY.
Choose ‘Fix Selected Problems’ and allow Spybot to fix the RED entries.
REBOOT normally to complete the scan and clear memory.
==========

Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.
==========

You have SpySweeper installed. While this is a great program, we need to temporarily disable (not uninstall) the program because it might stop our fix.

To disable SpySweeper:

Open SpySweeper
Click Options over to the left
Then program options >Uncheck "load at windows startup.
Over to the left click shields and uncheck all there.
Uncheck home page shield.
Uncheck automaticly restore default without notification.
==========

Please go to:
Start
Control panel
Add/Remove programs

Find and remove these programs (if they are present)

BearShare (If NOT paid version)
Backweb

(If some programs listed are not present, please do not panic)
==========

Boot into Safe Mode.
To do this:
Reboot your computer.
Tap the F8 button as your computer is booting to bring you to the Advanced Options Menu.
Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
==========

Run and scan with HijackThis. With all other browsers and windows closed, place a check beside the following:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)

O4 - Global Startup: Updates from HP.lnk = C:\Program Files\Updates from HP\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe

Click Fix Checked.
Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed

C:\WINDOWS\ALCMTR.EXE
C:\Program Files\Updates from HP\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe
C:\Program Files\BearShare\BearShare.exe (If NOT paid version)
