Hi Anitha,

My name is DFW, and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.

Please observe the following points and rules while we work:

Perform all actions and fix's in the order given in each post
If you don't know or understand something please don't hesitate to ask.
Only reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
Please do not try and clean your computer with any tools other than the ones I ask you to use during the cleanup process.
Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe
Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear,

Please note! that all instructions given in this topic are customised for this computer and Infections only, the tools or Fix's used may cause damage if used on a different computer or infection.

No Reply Within 3 Days of my last post Will Result In Your Topic Being Closed

First off

You are operating your computer with multiple Anti Virus programs running in memory at once:

Avira AntiVir and McAfee

Anti-virus programs take up an enormous amount of your computer's resources when they are actively scanning your computer.
Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time will cause your computer to run very slow, become unstable and crash.

Please Go to add/remove programs and remove one, you decide which one.

Download to your desktop DDS from one of the links below:

Link 1
Link 2
  • Double click the tool to run it.
  • A black Screen will open, just read the contents and do nothing.
  • When the tool finish it will open 2 reports.
  • Copy/paste both reports back here and remove DDS from your desktop.

Please post back both DDS Logs (do not attach)

Hi DFW,

Thank you for responding. My comp is in pretty bad shape now and I had to go into safemode with networking, in order to install and run DDS and hijackthis. I will remove one of the Antivirus s/w asap.

The reports are below.

Thanks,

Anitha.

Hi Anitha.

It is not ideal to be going online in safe mode, do you have access to a second PC were you could download the tools we are going to need,
then copy them to a CD, DVD, USB Stick or any media then copy them across to this system.

Due to lack of activity this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
