HELP!! Right click PROBLEM!!!

Unread postby IHateMalware616 » May 23rd, 2009, 7:12 am

Whenever I click in any file/shortcut on system programs under explorer.exe (e.g. The desktop, Start Menu, Windows Explorer) it hangs up and I have to restart the process in taskmanager!
the last thing i remembered added in the context menu was a bat file in "send to" folder(not without my consent so not malware issue).
The bat file's function was to move files in a folder within the folder it was originally on.
ex.
D:/Folder/filename.jpg
I right click on it>send to>new folder.bat
new location
D:/Folder/filename/filename.jpg

but I found it useless so i went to 'send to' folder to delete it.

And now Right click stopped working!
I disabled all(except avast, winrar, and spybot) non windows context using shellextview.
But it still doesn't work!

I know it's not malware(that's why I posted it here instead of the HJT section).
could be in the registry.

It is not appropriate for Freshmen to offer advice in this forum, they are still in training, and may give inappropriate advice.

This is a Malware removal site, and our members specialise in malware removal. If you have a general non-malware related problem, you would be better utilising the services of one of the General Computer Help forums, whose members specialise in dealing with those type of problems, and where you're more likely to get your problem resolved.

http://forums.whatthetech.com/forums.html
http://www.techsupportforum.com

Both have forums which will deal with the type of problem you have.
