NTOSKRNL-HOOK HiJackThis Log

Unread postby sh404 » May 11th, 2009, 7:37 pm

Here is the log from HiJackThis.

Basically, my problem is McAfee will tell me that it has removed the 2 trojans but the computer doesn't act any different. If I restart my computer in Safe Mode with Networking I don't have any problems. When I restart normally it doesn't give me any problems until I connect to the internet. As soon as I connect to the internet the "blue screen of death" pops up and the computer shuts down.

I appreciate the help.

Welcome to Malware Removal!
My name is Bjorn, known as Bv202 on this forum and I'll be happy to assist you with all your malware problems you have on your computer.

Before we start fixing your computer, there are a few points you need to know:
  • Please don't start a new topic, but reply on this one.
  • If you don't understand something, please ask!
  • If you find any new problems and/or details, please post them!
  • Please always try to reply within 5 days. If you know you won't be able to reply for any reason, please tell me so we don't close your thread.
  • As I'm still in training here at Malware Removal, all my posts needs to be checked by an expert first.

I see you're using Windows Vista as your Operating System. For all tools we use, please run them by right mouse clicking on the file and selecting Run as Administrator!

Remember: absence of symptoms does not mean your computer is clean!!
Please reply to this topic until I say your computer is clean.

I'm now researching your log. Once it's done, I'll be back to you.

In the meantime, please do this:
  • Open HijackThis.
  • Look under System tools.
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
  • Click on the Save list... button.
  • It will prompt you to save. Save this log in a convenient location. By default it's named uninstall_list.txt.
  • Notepad will open. Please copy and paste the contents of this log in your next reply.

Hi sh404

Download Combofix
Please go to Safe mode with network support again.
Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
As you won't have a connection when running Combofix, you may want to print out the instructions.
Don't run Combofix yet, just download it!!

Run Combofix
After you've downloaded combofix, please boot into normal mode. Don't connect to the internet as you'll get a Bluescreen again.
Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
If you need help to disable your protection programs see here.
You need to disable: Mcafee (and any other security program present on your system). Please don't connect to the internet - visit that website in safe mode and print out the instructions if needed.

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Please let me know if you still get a bluescreen if you try to connect to the internet after running combofix. If that's the case, please write down the text (error codes etc.) on the bluescreen and post it in your next reply.

Due to lack of activity this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
