I had two malware problems - abetternet and spyaxe.
I followed the instructions Noahdfear had regarding Spyaxe. That worked fine and removed Spyaxe for me but whenever I run "spybot", I still have "abetterinternet" displaying.

So far I have done the following:
ran SmitRem (for Spyaxe)
ran Ewido
ran HijackThis
ran Microsoft updates
ran AdAware
ran Softspy
ran Spybot

You say that Spybot flags up ABetterinternet. I presume that you highlight it for Spybot to remove but that it comes back each time?

First, try using Windows Add/Remove programs to uninstall WIN32 BI Application if present.

Next, click HERE to visit the Panda ActiveScan website

• Click the 'Scan your PC' button (about halfway down the page) and in the new window that opens click the 'Check Now' button
• Enter your Country, State/Province and e-mail address (it is safe to do so) and click 'Send', then select either 'Home User' or 'Company' and click the big 'Scan Now' button
• If Panda asks to install an ActiveX component allow it do do so - it will then download the files it requires (which may take a few minutes)
• When the download is finished click on 'Local Disks' to start the scan
• When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the 'See Report' button, then 'Save Report' and save it to your desktop

Then update and run Spybot again. If ABetterinternet appears again, right-click in the results window and choose 'save full report to file', name it 'sdreport' or something and save it to your desktop.

Finally, run HijackThis again and post back with:

• Panda report
• Spybot report
• HJT log
• and let me know if WIN32 BI Application was listed under Add/Remove programs
