Multiple, blank IE Windows

Unread postby Turtlegreen » April 3rd, 2009, 4:47 pm

Last evening while online, multiple IE windows cascaded across my monitor. They came faster than I could click them away. Suspecting a virus, I quickly pulled out my phone line to disconnect from the Internet (Yes, I have a dial-up connection. No choice) I was using AOL software, had just checked email, and was visiting an AOL posted news article when it happened. I have run a McAfee scan, but nothing was found. No problems since last evening's one-time occurance.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forums :hello2:

I am Wi[k]! and I will be helping you today. As I am an undergrad my posts must be checked by a teacher so there can be a delay. HijackThis logs can take time to analyze so be patient.

In the meantime create a uninstall list.

  • Start HijackThis.
  • Click Open the Misc Tools section
  • Click Open Uninstall Manager
  • Click Save list...
  • Save the list to your desktop, or any other convenient place.

Post that in your next reply.

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
