Help - How to tell good from Bad?

I've been running a few tools like a2 HiJackFree.

There appear to be a lot of files/settings that are legitimate on one version but also used to mask malware. So its hard to know if anything is a threat or evidence of an old one.

Has anyone the info to recognise the safe versions (if any) of the following under win98SE:

ActiveX CaPlgin.ax
ActiveX R2CTLNS.OCX - maybe related to a game cd.
ActiveX C:\WIN98SE\SYSTEM\CGMOPENBHO.DLL

Shell Open Command "Screen Saver" scrfile\shell\file\open

AutoRuns C:\WIN98SE\SYSTEM\WEBCHECK.DLL
