Problem deleting registry file, KEEPS COMING BACK

OK, before we start I must reiterate the installed Hard-Drive issues need addressing now, not later otherwise ultimately they will cease to function correctly.

If I may bring your attention to the below, the drives highlighted in red need more free space urgently. I advise remove unnecessary applications, files and folders etc.

Backup the Registry:

Modifying the Registry can create unforeseen problems, so it always wise to create a backup before doing so.

• Please go here and download ERUNT.
• ERUNT (Emergency Recovery Utility NT) is a free program that allows you to keep a complete backup of your registry and restore it when needed.
• Install ERUNT by following the prompts.
• Use the default install settings but say no to the portion that asks you to add ERUNT to the Start-Up folder. You can enable this option later if you wish.
• Start ERUNT either by double clicking on the desktop icon or choosing to start the program at the end of the setup process.
• Choose a location for the backup. Note: the default location is C:\WINDOWS\ERDNT which is acceptable.
• Make sure that at least the first two check boxes are selected.
• Click on OK
• Then click on YES to create the folder.

Note: if it is necessary to restore the registry, open the backup folder and start ERDNT.exe.

Next:

Download this file and place it on your desktop.

• Unzip batch_file_assoc.zip.
• This will create a new folder on your desktop with the name: batch_file_assoc
• Open that folder and doubleclick the batch_file_assoc.reg file present in there in order to let it merge into the registry.

COMBOFIX-Script:

A word of warning: Please do not run ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

• Save this as CFScript.txt and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop.
  
  
  
  
• Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
• Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
• ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
• When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:

• Launch/start MBAM and click on the Update tab >> Check for Updates.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Now click on Scanner >> Perform full scan, now select all Drives apart form the CD-ROM's, then click Scan.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please post that log in your next reply.

1. Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
2. Click on the Logs radio tab.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

When completed the above, please post back the following in the order asked for:

• How is you computer performing now, any other symptoms and or problems encountered?
• ComboFix Log.
• Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Log.
• A new HijackThis Log.

Okay, I did all the scans and followed all directions:

First, my computer seems to be working fine. The only problem that I can think of is the IE7 keeps crashing, or at least it did, I haven't used it in days...

Hi,

Please go here to run an online scanner from ESET.

• Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan
• Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
• Click Start
• When asked, allow the activex control to install
• Click Start
• Make sure that the option Remove found threats is unticked, and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
• Click Scan
• Wait for the scan to finish
• Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
• Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic

Next:

Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete this folder (if present):

C:\RSIT

Next:

• Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
• Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
• Once it has finished, two logs will open:
  
  • log.txt will be opened maximized.
  • info.txt will be opened minimized.
• Please post the contents of both log.txt and info.txt.

When completed the above, please post back the following in the order asked for:

• How is you computer performing now, any other symptoms?
• ESET Log.
