Google searches return shopping sites

Unread postby imagebender » January 3rd, 2009, 7:42 pm

Bitdefender detected a rootkit virus a few days ago and when I did a full system scan it quarantined -Exploit.PDF-JS.Gen / filename: 25F51FCFd01. When I do a search on Google, I get shopping sites instead of the companies I'm searching for. ie. a search using only the word "Dell" returns all kinds of shopping and spam sites instead of Dell.com as expected. Firefox also crashes quite a bit now and never did before. Any help you guys can give me to clean this crap would be incredibly appreciated. My highjackthis log is pasted below. Thanks!

Hello and Welcome to forums!

My name is Bio-Hazard and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.

Please observe these rules while we work:

  • I will be working on your Malware issues this may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
  • I f you don't know or understand something please don't hesitate to ask.
  • Please DO NOT run any other tools or scans whilst I am helping you.
  • It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
  • Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

NOTE: Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe

random's system information tool (RSIT)

Due to lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
