Hi I will help you get rid of Spyaxe

Please print out and/or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

*****
Download SpyAxeFix.exe © noahdfear. Save it to your desktop.
But do not use it yet

*****
Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop

*****
Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

*****
If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup
Don't run it yet!

*****
Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  1. Restart your computer
  2. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  3. Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  4. Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

*****
start hijackThis and put a check at the following lines

O2 - BHO: HomepageBHO - {3e9b951e-6f72-431b-82cf-4a9fbf2f53bc} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hpF3BA.tmp (file missing)

O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\IEExtension.dll

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\IEExtension.dll

O9 - Extra button: Real.com - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\Shdocvw.dll

Now click Fix checked
And close HijackThis

*****
Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

*****
Close all other programs and windows. Double click SpyAxeFix.exe, then click Start to extract the tool to it's own folder. Open the SpyAxeFix folder and double click the SpyAxeFix.bat to start the tool. At one point when the tool runs, your taskbar will dissappear, and your computer will restart when the tool completes. A text file named spyaxe.txt will be created in the SpyAxeFix folder. Post the contents of that log please.

*****
Reboot into safe mode

*****
We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.
Remove the following folder if present

C:\Program Files\PartyPoker

*****
Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

*****
Run Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
  • You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
  • If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
  • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
  • If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

*****
Reboot back into Windows’ Normal Mode
Post it a new HijackThis Log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt log , the Ewido Log and the content of spyaxe.txt by using Add Reply.
Let us know if any problems persist.

Thanks for your help. Things went well until it came time to run ewido. When I tried to start the program I got a message saying:

"Application failed to start because lang.dll was not found. Re-installing the program may fix this problem."

I did not want t reinstall and proceed before checking with you, therefore ewido has not ben run. Please let me know what to do.

Here is the other info you requested:

It’s looking pretty good
Instead of ewido we will use Panda

*****
Start hijackthis and put a check at the following line
’
O4 - Startup: PowerReg SchedulerV2.exe

Click Fix checked
And close HijackThis

*****
Go to
Panda free use Active Scan
and perform a full scan, and save the report.

*****
Reboot your computer

*****
After the restart make and post a fresh HijackThis log along with the outcome of the Panda Scan, and please tell us how your computer behaves.

Thanks again for your help.

Unfortunately, I got the following error when trying to run Panda:

"An error has occurred downloading Panda ActiveScan. Please repeat the process. If the error occurs again, restart your system and try againPossible causes of this error are:

Not allowing the application's ActiveX control to be downloaded.

Problems with the Internet connection.

The error could be due to a download error or an installation error due to lack of hard disk space, privileges etc.... "

I tried again after the reboot and got the same result. My connection, hard disk space and privileges shouldn't be an issue.

The good news is my PC has been functioning well with no sign of spyaxe since I carried out the first set of instructions you gave.

I could try to reinstall ewido maybe, it has run properly on my PC in the past. Here is the new HJT logfile, please let me know what you think.

When Performing the Panda Scan you need to allow pop-ups.

And Panda also need to download an ActiveX element (asinst.cab), that are virusdefinitions.

During this process you'll might get a message from any of your security programs, read them carefully. at this point you are making some changes in the system,
denying them will mean that the actions you want to perform, will not be executed by pressing deny.

I hope i was clear enough, cause english is still not my first language.

If it still doesn't work just tell me again, and we will guide you through the proces

Ok , first off all
turn of wordwrap in Notepad

because the hijackthis log looks a bit strange this way, and are difficult to read
i don't want to make any mistakes on your computer ;)

*****
I will try the updated Smitrem tool on you if you have nothing against that.
This updated tool will probably remove that registry entry

The tool is still a beta tool so i cannot post it here on the board.

I will send you the link by PM (personal message)

Download the new smitrem tool from the link i pm-ed you
install it but do not use it yet.

*****
Reboot back in windows' normal mode

*****
After the reboot perform a full scan with Panda again.
..again save the report it makes.

*****
Now make and post a fresh hijackthis log
, the result of the latest panda scan and the content of the new smitfiles.txt

Hello,

I want you to download Panda trial

And perform a full scan on your computer

you will see that the scan will come out clean now, cause it will now remove everything it finds.

Please show me the report when you finished the scan.
