Hello and thanks;

I am hoping this is not a repeat posting, I could not find original, so I assume that this is not. My AVG Free virus removal prog recently told me that I had two copies of a trojan horse. It removed them, but my computer is running sluggish to an extreme; it can hardly open up websites. Any help at all will be appreciated.

Below is my Hijackthis log file:

  • Download random''s system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)

I see no traces of malware but this is the reason slowness:

Total RAM: 239 MB (40% free)

You have too little RAM for XP. I recommend that you at least double it, RAM is also pretty cheap nowadays.

Due to lack of Response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
