Slow boot up, mcAfee doesn't install for up to 10 minutes...

Hi Folks,

I've got a case of the Vista SP1 Blues I think. Mcafee security center loads in safe mode but won't load under a regular startup. Vista crashes routinely. And for what it's worth, I get two POST beeps with AMIBios. I did build this system myself and that might be part of the problem. Also, this may have began with the install of fujitsu snapsnap document scanner that really did not want to play well with Mcafee.

Well, I decided to take a go at this on my own, and my system is booting well now. forgive me for posting to my own topic, but i figure i should let u know what i did.

What i did at startup was launch task manager and watch which services were installing. It was hanging up on Roxio hard drive watcher. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatch9.exe I "fixed" it in Hijack and then deleted the file. Maybe I was supposed to do it the other way around?

Anyways, the system boots fast now, but i still can't delete O23-C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatch9.exe in my hijack log.

I believe there has been some misunderstanding of the procedure for posting in the 72 hour bump room.
