There is one alternative that we can try to but it is not very easy one.

We could try to delete that file using live linux CD.

Do you have working CD/DVD-drive there and a blank CD?

I do.

I will be back in about 3 hours with more time to devote to whatever instructions you might have, Shaba.

I appreciate this very much.

Okay, I burnt it to the cd, and didn't see that you said you would guide me from there, so I've already started booting the computer from the disc. I was following the directions from the link you posted.

Let me know if you need me to stop.

Right now my desktop looks weird and there are two icons on it, "examples" and "install," and there's a menu bar at the top that says "Applications Places System" asnd then there's the Firefox icon a mail iconand a question mark icon.

Go to Places \ Computer from the menu in upper screen.

Double-click that with (some numbers) GB media.

If it opens properly, go to windows and system32 and delete this:

dfecafbfdbdaeffbca.dll

Let me know if it succeeded.
