Anyone know of good quality program to convert .wmv files to dvd, preferably free. My wife has just made a xmas vid & wants to send to the rellys on dvd so they can watch on theire tv.

Edit: Managed to solve this using Windows MovieMaker & using option to publish to DVD.

Hi jmw3, Nero might do the trick, although I dont think they are free they do offer a trial version so at least you could see if it works or not.

Hi muppy

The thing I found with all the trial or "free" versions is that they will only convert 50% of the file or if they do convert the whole file it will leave an ugly watermark on unless you buy the full version.

My wife originally put the move together using Windows Movie Maker. When she finished it & wanted to publish it she saved it to the hard drive which converted the file to wmv, thinking that it would then be easy just to burn to a dvd & play. WRONG.
As I don't know much about Movie Maker I started poking around looking for a program that would convert the file. When all we should have done & ended up doing was publish the file straight to DVD which encodes it correctly & then you have a playable DVD... easy!!!
