Hi newbie with a very very nasty virus

Hi everyone, I was directed to this forum by another member to ask for some help.
Yesterday one of my children accidently let a trojan virus in to the computer and my virus scan and removal program can't get rid of it.

It's a trojan.vundo and it's affecting explorer. Everytime I open a page another one pops up (not just a pop up window it's an entire page) and it's spam for virus detectors.
It has also stuffed up my windows security alerts and won't allow me to stwitch it on PLUS it has made my system restore not go further back than the time it infected my computer.

Any advice on how to get rid of this nasty thing would be muchly appreciated
