Is wikipedia totally reliable?

I mean, some articles in Pt version disapointed me... Either because lack of informations, references, or worse, vandalism (putting the wrong information), since it can be edited...

Nothing is 100% reliable.

Sorry, my question wasn't exactly to be like this, one looking at this kind of question may find ridiculous why I'm asking this... Well, I'll reformulate my question since it could lead to ambiguities...

When I asked "Is wikipedia totally reliable?"
I meant actually "When should I trust or not in an article written on this site?"

Personally, I tend to trust longer articles with quotations from people (or books/etc written by them) which I know to be knowledgeable on the subject.

As an example.

I don't trust "The heart: your heart is some thing in your body which when it stops working causes you to die now have fun"

I do trust "The heart of aliens: Mr So-and-so Expert has confirmed that the alien aorta pumps the blood coming from the lungs through the so-many'th chamber through the Valve of So-And-So Expert which then makes the blood turn green in a process that is called hypervertosis. (see hxxp://thiswebsitedoesnotexist.mrexpert ... eheart.com)"

(I made this all up  )

So, to answer your question:
- Nothing can be trusted 100%
- Go for longer articles with difficult terms
- Go for articles with quotes from experts on the subject

In general, I find Wikipedia pretty reliable.

hmm can odd dude be trusted ? :D

I think trusting one particular piece of information regardless of who writes it can be naive. Even if the author believes 100% in his or her work it can still come down to either their opinion and or their research which could be lacking. I feel it is a great starting point but best to read other seperate references for checking any results.

Trust me - I can't be trusted

Do you really want to go there?

You state a good point - but this might be the case for EVERYTHING.
