Hello! :hello2: and welcome to the Malware Removal forums.
I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research so please be patient while I work on your log and I will post back here with any recommendations.

  • I will be working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
  • If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

You don't seem to be using an antivirus, this is extremely risky. Spybot alone is nowhere near good enough to protect you, it's only meant to compliment other security measures.

Step 1:
You don't seem to be running any Anti-virus software. These are programs that detect, cleanse, and erase harmful virus files on a computer, Web server, or network.
Unchecked, virus files can unintentionally be forwarded to others, including trading partners and thereby spreading infection. Because new viruses regularly emerge, anti-virus software should be updated frequently. Anti-virus software can scan the computer memory and disk drives for malicious code. They can alert the user if a virus is present, and will clean, delete (or quarantine) infected files or directories. Please download a free for personal use anti-virus software from one these excellent vendors NOW:

1) Antivir Personal Edition Classic
-Free anti-virus software for Windows.
-Detects and removes more than 50,000 viruses. Free support.
2) avast! 4 Home Edition
-Anti-virus program for Windows.
-The home edition is freeware for noncommercial users.

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and system crashes.

Step 2:
  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<< will be maximized) and info.txt (<< will be minimized)

I was uncertain if you wanted the RSIT log (after) I downloaded the free anti-virus. I am currently downloading one now (Home Edition). Please let me know if you need me to run the anti-virus software and give you a new RSIT log. Thank you VERY much for your time and patients.

[edited] One last thing! I keep getting "Registry" pop ups on the right side of my screen saying "something something denied" C/:programs blah blah. This is what happened immediately after I went to that website where I believe I got keylogged and they started to take over and shut down my desktop among other things. Spybot is also freaking out so I'm going to erase that via Add/Remove Programs from my computer. Until I hear from you. Oh and one last thing, I finished downloading Avast.

Hi,

I did want you to run RSIT after you downloaded an antvirus, if possible please follow each step in sequence. It's a good idea to uninstall Spybot for now, you can reinstall it after we are finished here.

Step 1:
Please download DAFT.EXE to your Desktop.
  • Double click daft to run the application
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • Place a checkmark next to the following entries in case they appear:

    .reg

  • Note: If any other file associations are flagged as corrupt please place a checkmark against them also.
  • Click the Fix button.
  • Re-scan and save a logfile. By default, it will save as daft.txt
  • If everything is ok again, it should display the all associations ok message
  • Please post back the results of daft.txt in your next reply

Step 2:
Run RSIT.exe (random's system information tool) by double clicking it, it will only produce one log this time. Then post the following:
  • The daft.txt from step 1
  • A new RSIT log

I don't see too much, but we can look deeper. Are you still having those errors?

Step 1:
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location.
  • The log can also be found here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt
  • Post that log back here.

Step 2:
Run Eset NOD32 Online AntiVirus
http://www.eset.eu/online-scanner
Note: You will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.
  • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
  • Click Start
  • When asked, allow the activex control to install
  • Disable your current Antivirus software. You can usually do this with its Notfication Tray icon near the clock.
  • Click Start
  • Make sure that the option "Remove found threats" is Un-checked, and the option "Scan unwanted applications" is checked
  • Click Scan
  • Wait for the scan to finish
  • Re-enable your Anvirisus software.
  • A logfile is created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt. Please include this on your post.

Step 3:
Run RSIT again by double clicking it and post the following into your next reply:
  • The Malwarebytes log
  • The NOD32 results
  • A new RSIT log

After removing spybot I've yet to have any errors, but I'm still not sure I'm able to run WoW. I will check and post a reply after I send this if I can in fact run WoW (again).

[edit] Still can't run WoW. I've tried to DL the latest patch (which I had previous to my issue) and I keep getting errors stating that 'There is no space.' I'm using I believe 4% of a 100g HD. There's room. It wasn't until my issue of being keylogged or whatever. I'm pretty sure you don't have many answers for my latter issue, but I just thought I'd put it out there.

You do seem to have more than enough space on your HD:
System drive C: has 96 GB (82%) free of 117 GB

Your logs are coming back clean, you could try using system restore to return to a date before you had issues with WoW:
1.Click Start.
2.Point to All Programs.
3.Point to Accessories.
4.Point to System Tools.
5.Click System Restore.

I presume you have your WoW disk/s that you could also try uninstall it, reboot and reinstall it again.

We can have a deeper look to see if anything else is lurking.

Step 1:
  1. Please download F-Secure Blacklight and save it to C drive.
  2. Click on Start > Run and copy and paste in the following: C:\fsbl.exe /expert. Click OK.
  3. You will be shown a license agreement. Read through it and select I accept the agreement. Click Next.
  4. Click on Scan.
  5. Once the scan is done, close F-Secure Blacklight. Don't rename anything found!
  6. A log will be produced on your C drive. It's named fsbl-XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.log, where the XXXXXXXXXXXXXX are numbers. Please post this log in your next reply.

Step 2:
Run RSIT again and post the log it produces along with the Blacklight results. Also let me know if you are still having issues.

I will run the said test once my WoW is done downloading. I started the 4GB DL about 12 hours ago and I'm barely @ 51%. It keeps bouncing between 12-36 hours (til finish). Once that is done I will do as you mentioned and post a log. I just wanted to let you know in case you did not hear from me until later tomorrow night.

Other than that. I think things are running smoothly. Every since taking out Spybot I haven't had any strange errors pop up. Maybe that coupled with Firefox Modzilla (which I was using at the time) were infected. I did a system restore before you got back to me on here and that didnt help much if at all.

Talk to you tomorrow I guess.

I just wanted to say Thank You (again). Everything is running smooth ever since deleting Spybot, and Modzilla. Not to mention all the things you had me run. I'm sure something of that had a lot to do with it.

Did you still want me to run those things on your last post? I spent the 36+ hours re-downloading WoW and other things. I let my comp rest and now it seems where it used to be if not better. Let me know if you want me to run that last thing along with an RSIT scan. I will check back here later on tonight or tomorrow.

No need to run anymore scans, your logs were clean and if your computer is back to normal then you are good to go. :)

Your logs are now clean. :D :D
If you still feel you are having any issues please let me know now, otherwise read through the following:

Below are some steps to follow in order to dramatically lower the chances of reinfection
You may have already implemented some of the steps below, however you should follow any steps that you have not already implemented
  • Make sure you install all the security updates for Windows, Internet explorer & Microsoft Office
Whenever a security problem in its software is found, Microsoft will usually create a patch for it to that after the patch is installed, attackers can't use the vulnerability to install malicious software on your PC, so keeping up with these patches will help to prevent malicious software being installed on your PC
Go here to check for & install updates to Microsoft applications
Note: The update process uses activex, so you will need to use internet explorer for it, and allow the activex control that it wants to install
  • Keep your non-Microsoft applications updated as well
Microsoft isn't the only company whose products can contain security vulnerabilities, to check for other vulnerable programs running on your PC that are in need of an update, you can use the Secunia Software Inspector - I suggest that you run it at least once a month
  • Make Internet Explorer more secure
    Click Start > Run
    Type Inetcpl.cpl & click OK
    Click on the Security tab
Click Reset all zones to default level
Make sure the Internet Zone is selected & Click Custom level
In the ActiveX section, set the first two options ("Download signed and unsigned ActiveX controls) to "Prompt", and ("Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe") to "Disable".
Next Click OK, then Apply button and then OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
  • Install a Hosts File
    I recommend MVPS Hosts File
Every version of windows includes a hosts file as part of them. A hosts file is a bit like a phone book, it points to the actual numeric address (i.e. the IP address) from the human friendly name of a website. This feature can be used to block malicious websites
On some PCs, having a custom HOSTS file installed can cause a significant slowdown. Following these instructions should resolve the issue
    • Click Start > Run
    • Type services.msc & click OK
    • In the list, find the service called DNS Client & double click on it.
    • On the dropdown box, change the setting from automatic to manual.
    • Click OK & then close the Services window
For a more detailed explanation of the HOSTS file, click here
  • Install Malwarebytes & update and scan with it regularly
Malwarebytes is a free for personal use on demand scanner which is developed by active members of the Malware Removal community. It detects and removes many modern infections. The paid version offers realtime protection.
  • Download and install the free version of WinPatrol. This program protects your computer in a variety of ways and will work well with your existing security software. Have a look at this tutorial to help you get started with the program. If you want to help the developer of the program and get more information about what the programs that you see in Winpatrol please check out Winpatrol Plus. It does not need a new download.
  • The last and most important thing I can tell you is UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE.
If you don't update your security programs (Antivirus, Antispyware, even Windows) then you are at risk.
Malware changes on a day to day basis. You should update every week at the very least.
