That will be a shame - having Dell with HJT removal, even though they will not join any organisations like ASAP has been helpful.

Other large ones.

Spywareinfo.
TomCoyotes.
Bleeping Computer

Others - smaller does not mean bad, and can mean a faster responce.

Subratams
Security-Central (Little Eagles & LDTates).
RubberDucky's MalwareBytes
New Spybot forum.
Spyware Beware.

All those are in the asap list except spybot at http://forums.spybot.info/ and security Central at http://www.forums.security-central.us/index.php

All the above are pure HJT forums (except spybot) unlike lots that are security and more forums.

Are Dell Mods under political/corporate pressure for this ?

Other forums that we actively support with our helpers from here (Partnered sites)

Spyware Doc - http://spyware-doc.com/
Process Library - http://www.processlibrary.com/forum/
Tech Forums - http://www.tech-forums.net/index.php?s=

Thye may not be only HJT sites, but do have HJT support if limited in some.

Chris
It stated as an off shot of a conversation that kent and I were having last evening about not having a room for the experts to discuss problems in like you guys have here in the debating room

so , with kent's permission i forwarded our conversations to chris at dell and revcieved a response via email this a m

i dont know what is causeing this, i am sure that forwarding our chat was the main reason that chris is playing with this idea

i think that HJT boards is very demanding on Chris's time .

I will shoot him off a PM after I am done with this and see if I can find out more

have a great day

peace

OK here's the deal guys

Chris was trying to accomodate the workers.

When I asked him if this was a corporate decision he responed with this
It wasn't anything on our end. I was just trying to accomodate the instructors who were swamped.

so i told him maybe we could figure out something that would work that wouldn't necessitate closing down the whole HJT forum.

So guys and girls....I really would apprecaite some ideas on this one.

It seems a shame to shut the whole shooting match down after all these months of labor. It opened in Feb. of this year and already is 50 pages deep with past work. It's been a fairly busy board!!

thanks alot!!!

If they do decide to close the hjt section then another alternative is CARMA

The hjt board there could do with a bit more traffic.

Steve, you need to tell him that all HJT boards are swomped, not just Dell.

The main problem for some fighters is Dell does not have active Mods to police the forum. The number of pinned topics with replies, the number of HJT in other peoples topics and the number of HJT topics in the virus board, and that is not counting the outsiders who then post to 'help' victims.

They are all MOD problems, that the fighters are trying to work with, in a losing battle.

I know I have been there like most fighters who post to the board have.

It needs the current experts with mod powers that can pin/lock/split/move topics in those two boards.

That cannot happen at Dell, because those powers will only be given to employees of Dell.

I wish it could be different. I would love an active Dell forum doing HJT - it helps the whole anti-malware community to have such a high profile site doing HJT cleaning.

Remember it was myself as the first fighter posting to Dell that effectively got HJT posting to Dell started, with lots of others also following. Texruss, Mike, Yourself, and the current ones.

All have seen those problems, and they will not go away, whatever we try.

I understand Chris

When renegade "Experts" show up, they are quickly shown the door now if there qualifications are not good.

Chris is good handling this as long as he knows they are not trained experts.

If Chris isn't there to help, then one of us steps in and they are escorted out.

So keeping that in mind, any helpers from MRU that would like to help would be great. It is not a out of control board as far as that is concerned, we just need more trained experts.

Its a shame to have all our work Chris go down the drain. We did work hard setting up this board.

I will forward your remarks to Chris as I have other experts that I have asked for suggestions from .

thank Chris
Peace

If I understood Chris M's last PM we CAN have a private discussion room for the experts

so that's great

but Chris, I need names to give him to be included in the room

I don't know all the experts at the present time on MRU that would be will to work at the Dell site some

thanks
