First Off

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
• Choose your usual account.

• Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
• Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
• It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
• Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
• When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
• Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
  (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
• Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.

Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) .
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment JRE 6 Update 7 allows end-users to run Java applications".
Click the "Download" button to the right.
Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.

Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.




Make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.


Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file.

When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file.
Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
3. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
4. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
   Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
   Archives
   Mail databases
5. Click on My Computer under Scan.
6. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
7. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....

Update Adobe Reader, Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system

1. Please uninstall Adobe Reader 7.1.0 before installing the latest version by going to Start > Control Panel and double clicking on Add/Remove Programs. Locate Adobe Reader 7.1.0 and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it.
2. Click here to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
3. Select your Windows version and click on Download. If you are using Internet Explorer, you will receive prompts. Allow the installation to be ran and it will be installed automatically for you.
   
   If you are using other browsers, it will prompt you to save a file. Save this file to your desktop and run it to install the latest version of Adobe Reader.
4. Close your Internet browser and open it again.

I would remove WildTangent, but it is up to you.

Wild Tangent. It is not malware, but is sometimes thought to bring malware along. Wild Tangent is a video game software company specializing in online games. It has even made a partnership with AOL to include itself as part of the AOL Instant Messenger for their AIM games section. The WildTangent Web Driver is their technology that allows you to play 3D games over the Internet. Although it’s not technically considered spyware, it does have built in components to update itself and gather information about the computer system including

1. Operating System Version
2. CPU Type and Speed
3. Memory Amount
   Video Card type and Driver Version
4. Sound Card type and Driver Version
5. DirectX Version
   Location that the Web Driver was installed from
6. It is also a MAJOR resource hog.

Unless you are an extremely avid games player, I recommend you uninstall Wild Tangent: To uninstall Wild Tangent:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

3. In Add or Remove Programs, highlight WildTangent Web Driver, click Remove.
4. Close the Add or Remove Programs and the Control Panel windows.

Well done, we are almost done, just a little clean up to do, which will also take care of the items found in the kaspersky online scan




Let's clear out the programs we've been using to clean up your computer, they are not suitable for general malware removal and could cause damage if used inappropriately.

Please download OTMoveIt3 and save it to desktop.

• Double-click OTMoveIt3.exe.
• Click the CleanUp! button.
• Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
• If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
• The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.

Go to add/Remove programs and uninstall Highjackthis, it can always be downloaded again if you
ever need it, then go to C Drive, Program Files and delete Trend Micro folder.



I would keep AFT cleaner, it good for cleaning out useless files that build up in your system.

I would also keep Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, keep it updated and run weekly scans or more often if needed.


This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:

• Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
  
• Select Create a restore point, and Ok it.
  
• Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr
  
• Select the More options tab
  
• Choose the option to clean up system restore and OK it.
  
  This will remove all restore points except the new one you just created.

If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
