Hi ksh
Can you tell me which program give those "security messages"

Download a free firewall from one of these excellent vendors:
  1. Comodo
  2. ZoneAlarm (uncheck ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker during installation if you choose this one)
  3. Ashampoo
  4. Agnitum

Run Hijackthis
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad

Please reply with

a fresh HijackThis log

Thanks peku006

I believe it is spyware doctor putting up he security messages but I am not sure. It says:

Current web site is trying to opn a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to allow this?
Current site: http://ad.doubleclick.net
Trusted site: res://ieframe.dll

I downloaded the Comodo firewall. Here i a fresh Hijack this log. Again thanks for your patiece and help.

Hi ksh
I don't believe your issue is Malware related.

I'd like you to read this: Security Warning appears when you try to navigate to a Trusted site from a webpage

Logs looks clean to me, how is your system running now?

Thanks peeku006

That is the screen that I always get but what I do not understand is that it is always yieldmanager or ad.doubleclick or someother malware sounding site trying to access even though I am trying to go to another site.

For instance I will go to yahoo.com and the window will come up as ad.doubleclick trying to access the site and I will deny it and the it will put up yeildmanager trying to access the site and I will have to deny it as well to get to yahoo. In some cases I may have to deny 4 or 5 sites in order to get to the intended site.

With the last Kapersky log I posted there were still 2 Java infections down from the 4 in my initial log but I still did not understand because I had deleted Java as you expained, It seemed that should have gotten rid of all the infections.

Again, you have been great and thanks for all of your help.

Hi ksh

Please download OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.

Install MVPS Hosts File from here
The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer.
Find Tutorial here : http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Note:"Be sure to disable the service "DNS Client" FIRST to allow the use of large HOSTS files without slowdowns.
If this isn't done first, the next reboot may take a VERY LONG TIME.
This is how to do it. First be sure you are signed in as a user with administrative privileges:
Stop and Disable the DNS Client Service
Go to Start, Run and type Services.msc and click OK.
Under the Extended Tab, Scroll down and find this service.
DNS Client
Right-Click on the DNS Client Service. Choose Properties
Select the General tab. Click on the Stop button.
Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side at the Start-up Type box.
From the drop-down menu, click on Manual
Click the Apply tab, then click OK

Run Hijackthis
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad

Please reply with
the OTMoveIt2 log
a fresh HijackThis log
Do you have problems?

I have taken care of the OTmoveit2 and disabled DNS client. I have also downloaded the HOST.zip but when I try to run the mvps.bat it opens a new window that is black and says press any key to continue when I press the key nothing happens. The header of the black box is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe. I am not sure how to fix this? I do think if I can get this executed it will solve my problems.

OK. I have taken care of the MVPS host file. I have not had the security window come up since.

You did not ask me to clean the OTMoveIt2 files when i copied them. Should I have? Attached is a log from it.

Hi ksh
Congratulations, your log looks clean!

Time for some housekeeping

Please download OTMoveIt and save it to desktop.
  • Double click OTMoveIt.exe to launch the programme.
  • Click on the CleanUp! button.
  • OTMoveIt will download a list from the Internet, if your firewall or other defensive programmes alerts you, allow it access.
  • Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
  • If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
  • When finished exit out of OTMoveIt
  • The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.

Clear system restore points
This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:
    • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
    • Select Create a restore point, and Ok it.
    • Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr
    • Select the More options tab
    • Choose the option to clean up system restore and OK it.
This will remove all restore points except the new one you just created.

Here are some free programs I recommend that could help you improve your computer's security.

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.6
Download it from here. Just choose a mirror and off you go.
Find here the tutorial on how to use Spybot properly here
Hi ksh

Install SpyWare Blaster 4.1
Download it from here
Find here the tutorial on how to use Spyware Blaster here

Install WinPatrol
Download it from here
Here you can find information about how WinPatrol works here

Install FireTrust SiteHound
You can find information and download it from here

Update your Antivirus programs and other security products regularly to avoid new threats that could infect your system.
You can use one of these sites to check if any updates are needed for your pc.
Secunia Software Inspector
F-secure Health Check

Visit Microsoft often to get the latest updates for your computer.
http://www.update.microsoft.com
Note: If you are running Windows XP SP2, you should upgrade to SP3.

Please check out Tony Klein's article "How did I get infected in the first place?"

Read some information here how to prevent Malware.
