Turtledove,

I just wanted to do a final check in with you. I completed the last steps you outlined, with the exception of installing WinPatrol and CC cleaner. I was not sure how critical those steps were. Otherwise, everything appears to be running properly. Thank you again for you advise and support.

Turtledove,

I have a question regarding an error messages that pops up when I am shutting down after being on line. When I turn off the computer the system attempts to shut down the following:

SMax4PNP, and sprtcmd.exe. \

What are these?

Hello sdg3stannic,
You are welcome, Thanks for the update. Glad all is clean now. :)
These items you asked about:

These are both good.
SMax4PNP - This is your SoundMax Sound card.

sprtcmd.exe - Dell's support tool bundled on their computers.

Can you tell me if these errors occur every time or only sometimes? And what they say please?
Is the message "this program is not responding" or some other message?

Thanks

Due to lack of activity, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
