Anyway, my computer is an HP Special Edition, running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition. With 4 Gb of ram and a 2.1 Ghz AMD Turion 64 x2 processor. For anti-virus I have Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. That's where things get hairy. The Transaction Protector that came with it to block keyloggers from stealing my personal data, doesn't work well at all with my 64-bit operating system.
How I know that the Transaction Protector is the culprit is that when I turn it off everything performs fine with no problems to speak of. Also, my dad has Vista home premium 32-bit edition, with the same transaction protector installed and he has no problems. Also, my other computer runs XP with the same program with no problems.
When I am Running Internet Explorer 32-bit with the Transaction Protector running, most of the time it will cause my computer to become unstable, resulting in IE hanging and my computer becoming almost unresponsive. When I try to reboot or shut the PC down it just locks up as it attempts to restart or shut off. Leaving me no other option but to perform a hard shutdown each time.
Other times I'll escape any problems with Transaction Protector running by sheer chance. Then sometimes it will just spit out for example: ababab, as I am typing. Which is very annoying.
I normally wouldn't bother you guys with this sort of a problem, but I have contacted Trend Micro time and again to no avail. My computer cost me about $1000 and I can't stand to perform a hard shut down on it 3-4 times a day, at times, knowing that it might be damaging my hard drive. Please help me fix this problem or at least point me in the direction of a flawless, safe, and trustworthy, keystroke encryption program that won't interfere with my anti-virus program.

Thank you for your advice and the links that you posted. I wanted to mention though, that my anti-virus software that I use is in the list of Vista 64-bit compatible software. So I was wondering if I could keep the anti-virus software that I have and just use another keystroke encryption program, since my anti-virus works fine with the keystroke encryption disabled. Since it would just be a keystroke encryption program I wouldn't think that it would interfere with the operation of my anti-virus software. I know it's probably hard to say, but do you think that a keystroke encryption program will interfere with my anti-virus program? Again, thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. --jedmed
