TaskManager disabled 360mon in system32 newkernel32 in temp

Unread postby egaskrad » August 3rd, 2008, 3:24 am

Kas has reported GameThief
Symantec has reported Gampass
ad-aware reported 2 problems: BHO and onlinegame"something"

before they are all killed by this "thing"

task manager is not responding when you press ctrl-alt-del or ctrl-shift-esc.
security task manager (third party) return about a dozen dlls running, which the actually file is removed.

3 dozens of newly created dlls found in c:\windows\system32
another dozen of hook, shell run, exe, policy found in the registry all over the place.

many new temp files are found in user profile\local setting\temp
one of these files are newkernel32.dll which replace 360mon.dll in system32 once in a while

reboot with killing many of the above helps a bit, but the task manager is not coming back.
help.....

p.s. those lines with foreign characters: first one is "desktop", then "use fdm download movie/all items/selected items" and the last two are the company name of the "storm codex"

I am using windows xp home.
When I press ctrl-alt-del, instead of a disable message, i have got nothing.

it looks like some sort of malware named rodog... but the infected file is hard to find.

This topic is now closed.

We're sorry you have not received a response to your topic. This is most likely because you have replied to your own topic prior to receiving a response from a helper. Our helpers are looking for topics with zero responses. When you post replies to your own topic, it no longer has zero responses, and so it appears that you have received help when in fact, you have not.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Malware Removal forum and wait
for assistance. Do not post in that new topic until you have received a response from an MRU helper.

Thank you for your cooperation.
