Windows - no disk Exception Processing Message c0000013 Para

Unread postby michelle9127 » July 27th, 2008, 5:29 pm

It started with "Windows - no disk Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9"

No one knows how it happened (my brother was home, but claims he has no idea what happened), the last program to be put in was Limewire which he was downloading music on. No one removed a program at all (we do have Norton but no one has tried to remove it). I did remove limewire, but that was all.

I ran the virus scan (deep scan) and there was a file Backdoor.Trojan in C:/programfiles/webroot/spysweeper/wrsshp.exe that upon a scan Norton removed/fixed.

But the problems remains: Soon as you turn the computer on, windows loads, the Opening music plays, and then the desktop, taskbar, dissapears. You can only get to programs (like IE that I'm using to write this) through Task Manager, and opening a new task. When you open Explorer.exe as a new task it'll come up and load everything, but only for a few minutes and then go off again. It's been comming off and on, off and on for the last hour.

Please.. please help.

Hi! :hello2: and welcome to the Malware Removal forums.
My name is John Brouwer - if it helps, you can call me John for short. I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

HijackThis logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me. I know that you need
your computer working as quickly as possible, and I will work hard to help see that happens.

These rules are good for you to know:
  • I will working be on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
  • It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
  • If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
  • If you don't reply within five days after my last instructions this topic will be closed. If you will not be able to reply within five days please tell me so the topic will not be closed.

These rules are to make my voluntary work more comfortable:
  • Please be patient. The work I do is voluntary and I also have a private life (school, work, friends and hobbies).
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
  • Also, don't post logs as attachments. Other helpers like to view the logs as well and opening a lot of attachments is irritating. It can also contain malware.

First of all, the file Norton found (C:/programfiles/webroot/spysweeper/wrsshp.exe) is normally in that folder a legit process. It is part of SpySweeper so Norton must have made a mistake there. As this is not a prime problem we will leave it for later.

I have one question for your to answer first and that is if your problem also happens in safe mode. You can test this by going into safe mode the following way:
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.

You can print the instructions if you want to, as you will not be able to read them from the same computer when rebooting and going into Safe Mode. When you login to your usual account please check if the problem with your taskbar, etc. occurs. After checking this please reboot your computer. It will switch to Normal Mode and you can tell me if you also had the problem in Safe Mode.

One last question to you this time is if you have installed any new hardware lately, or updated any drivers.

Greets, John.

Due to lack of response this topic is now closed.

If you still need help open a new thread in the Malware Removal forum and wait for a new helper.
