Back again with trojan horses, possibly from spy-bot D/L

I resently came here with a few problems and a very nice chap called Dan helped me out, at the end of all the help he told me about spy-bot and a few other programs that he thought i should install. I think i got the mother of all viruses from the spy-bot download (german mirror), even though i checked it before installing?

Now i cant see hardly any of the options when i press start (which is the only way i know how to do a system restore, half of my desktop icons have gone (including my computer), i cant go online with out my browser working in safe mode! Also, apparently my windows is not genuuine either

Please can somebody help me?

Please make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here in a reply.

I wouldnt go that far.

I see Spybot is running but there is no entry in the Uninstall List. That's a bit odd.

Disable Teatimer
First:

• Right click Spybot in the System Tray (looks like a calendar with a padlock symbol)
• Choose Exit Spybot S&D Resident

Second:

• Open Spybot S&D
• Click Mode, check Advanced Mode
• Go To Left Panel, Click Tools, then also in left panel, click Resident
• If your firewall raises a question, say OK
• Uncheck the box labeled Resident Tea-Timer and OK any prompts.
• Use File, Exit to terminate Spybot
• Reboot your machine for the changes to take effect.

If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once Recovery Console is installed, you should see a blue screen prompt like the one below:



Click Yes to allow Combofix to continue scanning for malware.

When done, a log will be produced. Please post that log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply.


1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.
