Followed the steps at EliteKiller.com:
1. Rebooted to safe mode
2. Disabled system restore
3. Ran "fix tools" for task manager and registry re-enable
4. Installed and ran CCleaner
* 5. Ran Combofix (didn't appear to do anything?)
* 6. Ran SmitfraudFix (didn't appear to do anything?)
Double-click, hourglass for a few seconds, then... nothing?)
7. Ran Roguefix
8. Ran Sdfix
9. Ran VundoFix (found nothing)
* 10. Couldn't even install MBAM. (didn't appear to do anything?)
11. Ran HiJack This, created log
Have NOT performed these steps yet:
12. Download the Kaspersky AVPTool
13. Download, install, update, and run a Full scan w/ SUPERAntiSpyware (install in normal mode)
*Note: only did this one the user account (that appears to have admin rights). There is also an "Administrator" account but I'm not sure if my friend created it or possibly the malware? Not sure if I should repeat these steps on that account or not. The docs say to perform them for all user accounts...
