All,

Many thanks for reading this and trrying to help.

I have some malware I can't get rid of, no matter what I do. Seems to be a trojan of some kind; it bugs me with popups for celldorado, ukprizedraw plus a load of porn sites. I have been using Spyware Doctor which finds hundreds of programmes every day and claims to have fixed them, although the popup etc never go away. My Firefox recently stopped working, and when I switched to IE, it has now reset my homepage (although even I know how to fix that one!).

I recently had an attempted fraud on my credit card and I'm wondering if it could be a result of this.

I am running Vista on my HP 530.

I have posted the hijack this log below. Let me know if i should provide any more info. Many thanks again, your efforts are v much appreciated.

Simon

Hi simonwalne

Download F-Secure Blacklight and save it to your desktop -> ftp://ftp.f-secure.com/anti-virus/tools/fsbl.exe

Doubleclick fsbl.exe, accept the agreement, click Scan, then click Next

You'll see a list what have been found. A log will appear to your desktop, it is named fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (xxxxxxx will be random numbers).

DON'T choose Rename if something was found!

Post the contents of fsbl.xxxx.log to here (xxxx= random numbers, blacklight log from your desktop)

Hi

Good, no rootkits there.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
  • Please post contents of that file in your next reply.

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  1. Close all applications and windows.
  2. Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  3. When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  4. Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post.

Re: Malware: Celldorado and/or Vundo

Unread postby Shaba » May 2nd, 2008, 2:35 am

Hi

Uninstall these via add/remove programs:

Java(TM) 6 Update 2
Java(TM) 6 Update 3
Java(TM) 6 Update 5
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

Open HijackThis, click do a system scan only and checkmark this:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [zhffdkgymz] c:\users\si\appdata\local\zhffdkgymz.exe zhffdkgymz

Close all windows including browser and press fix checked.

Reboot.

Delete this:

c:\users\si\appdata\local\zhffdkgymz.exe

Empty Recycle Bin.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log.

Due to Lack of Response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
